Happy Mills: November 2004

Happy Thanksgiving!

This Thanksgiving was back at the Wagner's. There were 12 of us in all. The food was excellent, as always. No one was injured due to bad table manners. And there were plenty 'o left overs to enjoy my first Turkey A La King the following day. Maddie was still sick with a cold so this past week has been rough on her. She is doing much better now.

After dinner we played a fierce game of Cranium. It was boys versus girls and even though the girls had an extra player...the boys won. I would first like to thank Nick for being the designated actor and Russ for knowing all of the off-the-wall trivia. Danny's artist expertise and James' spelling bee skills made us untouchable. I was just along for the ride and a little emotional support (as well as some good natured ribbing of the girls). After Cranium the girls pleaded for another game that was individual rather than team...I can understand. So we broke out the classic - Balderdash! I don't think I've ever laughed so hard playing Balderdash. There were some very enjoyable words but to top them all was doodlesack. Liz beat out Russ to win that game. After it was all over, there was a lot to be thankful for. Praise God for family and friends!

5th Anniversary

We stayed at the Fess Parker Inn where wine tasting is the town's favorite past-time. We tried to take in the whole experience so we thought we'd give it a shot. Wine tasting was about as much fun as licking stamps. It's not something we'll be doing again. But overall, the few days we had to ourselves was a blast! Much thanks to Nick and Liz for watching "the beast" (aka: Maddie) for us!
