The Abandoned Practice of Evangelism
God has been really hammering me lately in the area of evangelism. As I noticed our new next door neighbors leaving their home at the same time I was going to work this morning, I was once again reminded of my lack of effort to get to know the people living in my community. Granted, this couple is still in the process of moving in but, there are only two neighbors I have actually had a conversation with, that extended beyond "hello".
Why is it that sharing the gospel does not come easily for me? What keeps me from sharing this essential truth? If the consequences of not knowing the truth could result in eternal punishment, as the Bible says, (Matt. 25:46) I should easily be persuaded to speak up. The earnestness of the gospel should always be on my thoughts.
